New packaging: Budweiser

Last Wednesday, August 3, the American beer company Anheuser-Busch revealed a new label design for Budweiser, one of the most popular beer brands in the United States. The new look will be used on beer cans and secondary packaging in the United States "this summer", coming to international markets later on.

The most obvious addition is the Budweiser bowtie which is now featured prominently on beer cans. Although it hasn't enjoyed this prominent place on the beer cans before, the bowtie is not a new element for Budweiser. It has been seen on bottle necks and in advertising for decades. It is also well established as Budweiser's logo for non-label use.

Parts of the previous label design can be seen as a texture in the red field behind the bow-tie, with the "Budweiser Creed" high-lighted. The new design is also adapted for "secondary packaging", i.e. casings for sixpacks etcetera.
