New logo: Audience Network

On June 1, DirecTV relaunched the 101 Network, its exclusive entertainment channel, as the Audience Network. It continued to be the home of programs exclusive to the DirecTV platform, including some original programming, foreign quality shows and high-profile reruns. The new look was developed by Trollbäck + Company, who delivered both the logo and the on-air graphics.

In channel IDs, the 'A' is divided into three parts that levitate and come together. Keeping with the network's programming, described as "the smartest, most daring entertainment on television", the graphics are rugged, honest and sophisticated.

Some British readers will probably draw comparisons to the Channel 4 in the United Kingdom, and there are some similarities both in IDs and promotional graphics. One can speculate that the Audience Network attempts gain an edgy image similar to that of Channel 4.

A montage of the new graphics has been posted on Facebook. Some selected screenshots are available below.
